33 years ago this article was published about Newby's Market. Several things have changed. Richard Newby took over the family business 3 years prior to this article. Earnest Newby passed away 10 years later. Several years later the market moved to the back side of the farm on 171st Street.
Today, the one thing that remains the same is the Newby Commitment to providing Fresh Sweetcorn. Sun up to Sun Down, July through the end of August and some years into the first week or two of September, you can find a Newby in the field picking corn.
So, where is Kevin Newby, what about his dreams? Well, he is now the Third Generation Grower of Fresh Vegetables. Purchasing the Family Farm in 2013, Kevin now has his sites set on a firm foundation set by his Grandfather and Father.
"Thanks a Million" was heard by every customer by Grandpa Newby, and he meant it.
From Kevin Newby, "Thanks a Billion" Inflation you know!
As a Third Generation owner of the Newbys Farm Market. I'm more excited than ever to carry on the tradition. Pictured above with my Grandpa Newby and Dad Richard, I can tell you that was a proud day. I'm grateful for the opportunity to carry on the business of serving Fresh Vegetables to our customers. I look forward to seeing everyone this summer.
